A model skeleton of Pteranodon was built and integrated with pterosaur tracks from the Uhangri Formation in order to study the walking gait of pterosaurs. The Late Cretaceous Uhangri Formation has the first pterosaur tracks found in Asia, and these support the idea showing the forelimbs supported most of the body weight. The radius of movement of the forelimb was large enough to allow the hindlimbs to move forward, which suggests the humerus was held upright and the manus played a pivotal role. This way of walking probably suited their wing structure and because pterosaurs were accustomed to this gait, they could walk using only their two strong forearms. This study presents a revised quadrupedal model for pterosaurs and a bipedal model in which only the arms are used.
